Narana: Geelong’s Award Winning Aboriginal Cultural Centre
Narana is an Aboriginal Cultural Tourism and Education Centre which has been inducted into the Victorian Tourism Hall of Fame and provides a high-quality Victorian Indigenous Tourism experience right here in Geelong.
The Narana Cultural Centre has recently embarked on both renovations and additions to create an even greater cultural experience. Nestled amongst native trees, emus, wallabies, kangaroos and walkways is Café Narana, a Cultural Display and Performance building, as well as an Art Gallery and retail outlet. Open six days, Monday - Friday 9 - 5 pm and Saturday 10 - 4 pm.
Narana staff are always ready to share their extensive knowledge of Aboriginal culture and history. Play the Didgeridoo, paint a boomerang and take a guided or self-guided tour through all that Narana has to offer. The inviting retail outlet displays a wide range of Indigenous arts and crafts, books, bush herbs, spices, didgeridoos, boomerangs and many other items.
Café Narana: The café’s chef will delight the senses with gourmet dishes and inspired by Indigenous flavours & native ingredients, available to enjoy indoors or outside on the deck. The menu offers a wide range of culinary delights for breakfast and lunch. Seven seeds coffee is an in-store addition that will keep you coming back for more. You can also learn to gather and process native food and medicinal flora as you stroll through the bush-land garden and say hello to the emus. The café is open for meals six days, Monday - Saturday 9 am - 3 pm with coffee served until 4 pm. Closed Sunday and Monday open for coffee and cake only.
Narana Art Gallery: Experience unique and sacred stories and appreciate internationally recognized and emerging Aboriginal artists.
Gallery open Monday - Friday 9 - 5 pm and Saturday 9 - 4 pm. Free entry, all welcome.
