‘Time Travellers’ an exhibition by Kate Smith

This month Seaview Gallery is excited to present a stunning exhibition from amazing pastel artist: Kate Smith.
Each of Kate’s works comes with its own poem and is a celebration of women.
Kate’s inspiration for this exhibition comes from moving to Tasmania. She was fascinated with the early French and European exploration especially the French connection.
Selected works for this exhibition is about the Explorers Voyagers and Aviators of the 1800’s -1920’s.
Works such as ‘Voyager’ a solitary figure in period costume a sailboat on her head flying the French flag then ‘Libre’ meaning Freedom the subject towing a string of paper boats, works such as ‘The Aviator’ ‘I Believe I Can Fly’, ‘Whimsical Wanderer’ are inspired by man’s first efforts to fly ‘. Lady Penrhyn’ a reminder of the first fleet, of convicts to Australia. The Lady Penrhyn’s cargo were all women.
Exhibition opens with drinks on Saturday 6 July 2pm - 4pm.
