Get Friendly with the Geelong Botanic Gardens

Written on Tuesday, May 26 2020

The Friends of Geelong Botanic Gardens (FGBG) was formed in 1985 at a public meeting with people interested in supporting our Botanic Gardens. The Friends is a 'non-profit' organisation with over 300 members enjoying our program of events, including botanical art, tours and functions. Members may be able to volunteer their time or expertise to support the Friends or to do volunteer work at the Gardens. All members receive a discount at our Nursery and at our events.  A discount is also available from some Geelong businesses.

Keep an eye on the Friends’ website, Facebook and Instagram pages for details of when they will resume botanic art classes, nursery plant sales and a range of trips and events. Despite the temporary closure of the Friends they are still operational and happy to receive new yearly memberships. Membership helps the Friends carry out their primary purpose; supporting Geelong Botanic Gardens. It also gives members opportunities for discounts to all events and activities, including plant sales, excursions and botanic art classes.
