The Anglesea Golf Club is located on the Great Ocean Road and is 1.5 hours’ drive from Melbourne, 30 mins from Geelong or Lorne and 15 mins from Torquay. The Vern Morcom designed course is a par 73 challenging layout, set in beautiful Heathlands and home to 300 Eastern Grey Kangaroos.
Kangaroo Tours: Anglesea Golf Club has been hosting 25-min guided Kangaroo Tours since 2015 which have shot to international attention, with visitors from around the world coming for a unique wildlife experience. Tours run daily 10am-4pm and during Chinese New Year celebrations, Twilight Tours operate 4 - 6.30pm. The small open-air electric vehicles have seating for 14. On tour, the Club’s volunteer drivers will share interesting facts on lifecycles, habits etc. and take you to suitable areas to disembark for photos at favourite locations. Enjoy being “up close and personal” with much-loved Australian marsupials and perhaps a “Joey” baby kangaroo, peeking from its mother’s pouch. Tours can be booked on-line. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
The mini-golf course has every level of player in mind: A family friendly venue popular for birthday parties, groups or visitors who’d like to take a beach break or after a Kangaroo Tour! This is a fun leisure option for Surf-Coast Conferences and pre-booked catering is available.
The Clubhouse Bistro & Bar opens daily 10am: Serving coffee, snacks, lunch and dinner for golfers, holidaymakers and international guests. Mid-week dinner specials and Happy Hour Friday’s are enjoyed by members and visitors. Specials include: Parma Night [Mon] Roast Night [Tues] Steak Night [Wed] Fish & Chips [Thurs]. If residing at Anglesea, take advantage of the courtesy shuttle bus Friday and Saturday nights to get you to and from the Clubhouse safely.
