Students are able to save thousands while they study at The Gordon this year as part of the Victorian Government’s Free TAFE for Priority Courses initiative.
As of 1 January 2019, the Victorian Government has been paying tuition fees for eligible students who enrol into priority courses that lead to high-demand occupations and industries. The impressive initiative has been driven by industry demand and recognition of the value that TAFE graduates bring to the economy.
The Gordon currently delivers more than 30 of the courses included on the Government’s free TAFE priority course list. If you’ve been thinking of returning to study this year, now is the time to apply as many courses offer ongoing or mid-year applications.
Information evenings will be taking place in early May, and will provide details about The Gordon, its wide range of courses and the free TAFE initiative. Come along and hear about student life, chat to teachers or apply with the assistance of friendly staff.
Sessions will run at each Campus: Geelong, East Geelong and Werribee. Visit the website for full details of individual course session times and to register your attendance.
A Skilling Australia Foundation report released in 2017, found that Vocational Education and Training (VET) graduates enjoy a higher median salary once in the workforce, compared with their university counterparts with a bachelor degree. The report also found that nine of the top 10 occupations with predicted job growth are in vocational training areas. Exciting news for those considering a course at The Gordon.
