With dozens of short courses available on campus, and another 100+ available online, there’s an extensive range of new skills to learn at The Gordon. Whether you’re thinking about building on your existing talents or learning something completely new, there’s a short course for you.
Here’s a snapshot of courses on offer in February and March:
If you’re looking for a creative outlet, why not try the popular Hobby Welding – Sculpture course (27 Feb), where you’ll learn the basics of welding while designing and creating your own work of art. Or you could try Introduction to Floristry (26 March). You’ll learn to design, prepare and construct beautiful fresh arrangements, which you’ll get to take home each week.
First aid knowledge is an essential part of anyone’s skills set and there are several valuable courses on offer in the next month. Provide First Aid (15 March) will teach you to confidently provide a first aid response in a range of situations. Or, if you already have the basics covered, you could try Provide Advanced First Aid (18 Feb) or CPR (5 Feb).
For those wanting to work on their business skills there are a few courses that fit the bill: Small Business DIY Website (26 Feb), MYOB – Introduction (5 March) and
Google Docs Essentials (12 March) cater for various skill levels and goals, but all will improve your efficiency in the office.
The Gordon also runs dozens of Nationally Recognised Training short courses through its Industry Skills Training Centre at the East Geelong Campus. Courses include but are not limited to: Construction Induction Card, Spotters Course, Confined Space Entry, Working Safely at Heights, Traffic Control and Forklift Operation.
