St John’s Lutheran School in Newtown opened in 1962 and has maintained a dynamic and holistic curriculum, catering to the developing needs of young learners from kindergarten to Year 6. In Armstrong Creek, Geelong Lutheran College shares its leadership with St John’s under one Principal, Gary Jewson, who has worked in Lutheran Education in Geelong for 33 years. Geelong Lutheran College is a co-educational, Prep to Year 12 College situated on 11 hectares in the Armstrong Creek development.
Entering its 10th year, GLC continues to grow, with the addition of a number of state-of-the-art facilities including a senior science building that showcases a specialist focus on physics and chemistry. A large outdoor garden area incorporates research-based farming and boasts 18 garden beds, sprawling plants, a berry stand, orchard, grape arbour and olive grove. GLC and St John’s welcomes all students and their families to experience for themselves what a vibrant learning culture their children can enjoy at their schools.
