Celebrating Fabulous Food 

Food will feature yet again at the 12th annual Lara Food and Wine Festival. Everyone is invited to come along to the festival and sample some of the region’s finest food and wine from over 70 exhibitors. 

Exhibitors include boutique beer, cider and wine-makers, award winning cheese makers and vendors dishing up sensational savoury morsels and luscious desserts. 

The Celebrity Chef is Frank Camorra. Born in Barcelona, raised in Geelong, Frank is Australian food royalty. Executive Chef and co-owner of the successful Movida group of restaurants, Frank is a multi-award winner, for both his restaurants and cookbooks. Frank will be on-stage to reveal how we can bring modern Spanish fair to our dishes.

After Frank’s cooking demonstrations our all-day cooking stage will present local chefs mentoring The Gordon VET in Schools culinary students in a Master and Apprentice cook-off. Which team will create the winning mouth-watering morsels?

The Artisan Smallgoods Award, in memory of the late renowned Lara smallgoods maker, Angel Cardoso, is also a feature of the festival.

See the Cheese Champion Competition display, where local cheesemakers will compete to win the title of Best Cheesemaker.

Relax and enjoy the entertainment on our all-day music stage featuring the cool tunes of the Reed Street Band and popular local artists. Kids can enter our Donut Eating Competition, have their face painted or marvel at Dan the Magic Man.

Bring along a picnic rug, gather goodies from our stall holders and enjoy a leisurely lunch on the lawns of the magnificent Pirra Homestead.  

With free parking, just $5 entry for 18+, plenty of live music and free kids activities, this family friendly festival promises a great day out.  There are fabulous door prizes up for grabs including a fabulous foodie holiday valued at $3,000.  The holiday includes luxury accommodation, interstate flights, car hire and more.
