Geelong Japanese Summer Festival are delighted to be holding their second annual event this year at Diversitat Northern Community Hub, Norlane. The day includes a variety of family friendly offerings to enjoy. Live entertainment will be presented throughout the day by Wadaiko Rindo, Ichimadin, Anne Norman, Yosakoi Zen and more. Japanese traditional food and beverages are available along the games, art and craft stalls, kids free origami and shogi (Japanese chess) workshops, Cosplay/Emoji/Kendama (ball and cup) contests, Trivia Quiz and Bon Odori (traditional circle dance) and a raffle tickets sale where you might win JAL return flight tickets to Tokyo, two night’s accommodation with breakfast Shizuka Ryokan (traditional inn), KYO Japanese antique furniture and goods, Sakuratei restaurant $50 vouchers, and more. Also enjoy authentic ‘Zen’ art areas (e.g. calligraphy, kimono dressing, Bonsai and flower arrangement), ‘Dojo’ martial arts to experience Judo, Aikido, Iaido and Aiki Jujutsu.
