Everyone is invited on Sunday 24 March, to come along to the 11th annual Lara Food and Wine Festival and sample some of the region’s finest food and wine from over 70 exhibitors.
Exhibitors include boutique beer, cider and wine-makers, award winning cheese makers and vendors dishing up sensational savoury morsels and luscious desserts.
Featuring Celebrity Chef Iain ‘Huey’ Hewitson, who has been a fixture on national TV, with shows such as “Healthy, Wealthy & Wise”, “Never Trust a Skinny Cook” and “Huey’s Kitchen”. Iain has also written numerous cookbooks. He presents simple, yet special recipes that are easy to recreate at home.
After Huey’s cooking demonstrations the all-day cooking stage will present local chefs mentoring The Gordon VET in Schools culinary students in a Master and Apprentice cook-off. Which team will create the winning mouth-watering morsels?
The Artisan Smallgoods Award, in memory of the late renowned Lara smallgoods maker, Angel Cardoso, is also a feature of the festival.
See the Cheese Champion Competition display, where local cheesemakers will compete to win the title of ‘Best Cheesemaker’.
Local Gordon VET in Schools fashion students will display fabulous food inspired creations.
Relax and enjoy the entertainment on the all-day music stage, along with various kids activities including ‘Dan the Magic Man’.
Bring along a picnic rug and enjoy a leisurely lunch on the lawns of the magnificent Pirra Homestead.
