A world of Wonder awaits at Geelong Arts Centre these school holidays

As the school holidays approach, young people and families are invited to join in Geelong’s premier children’s festival, a whirlwind of events designed to spark creativity, and a love of the arts.

The festivities begin with IMAGINE LIVE, a vibrant celebration of the natural world, based on Alison Lester’s beloved book. From 12 – 14 September, children aged 3- 11 are invited to experience this heartwarming production, created by NCM and Jolyon James bringing to life the beauty of the outdoors.

Next, from 18 – 19 September, children above the age of 5 are invited to witness an interstellar journey with Little Blue Dot by Lemony S Puppet Theatre. Combining cutting-edge visuals with a collaboration from Monash University’s School of Physics and Astronomy, this performance promises an awe-inspiring voyage into outer space.

On 21 – 22 September, the fun continues for children above the age of 3, with a jam-packed weekend featuring iconic family band The Teeny Tiny Stevies and the much-loved tale The Gruffalo, adapted for the stage by CDP and Tall Stories.

Rounding out the festival is I Wish…, a gravity-defying spectacle of acrobatics and imagination, from 25 – 27 September. Children aged 4-8 are welcome to witness this inspiring performance, produced by Patch Theatre and Gravity & Other Myths. It is a joyous exploration of individuality and endless possibility.

Geelong Arts Centre’s Wonder Children’s Festival fosters experiences that are sure to engage children and families with the magic of the performing arts.
