Platform Arts
Saturday 2 August – 26 September
Un/scripted is a curation of arts experiences exploring contemporary identity and the mediated self and how we perform, edit, confess, and connect in digital spaces. In an age where authenticity is performed, the line between the genuine and the constructed becomes increasingly blurred.
Over August and September, this thematic brings to our region some incredible works designed to welcome reflection. It’s a stirring of our existing collective questioning on arguably the most pervasive industrial-cultural ‘habituation’ of our era. un/scripted questions how the digital realm shapes our narratives, from social media to reality TV. As physical interaction declines, what happens to spontaneity, messiness, and imperfection?
Through this unique series of events, Platform Arts invites the community to further reflect on the psychological and social costs of maintaining an online identity, asking what it means to be real in a world where everything is potentially a performance.
