ASSEMBLED LINES
The equipment forming the artwork in this exhibition was salvaged from Geelong’s Ford factory. Artist Robbie Rowland’s process with these objects is defined by a point at which the functionality of the object is challenged and its history comes into focus.
FORDTOWN
On 7 October, 2016 the last engine rolled off the Ford Geelong assembly line ending the 91 year long manufacturing history between Ford Motor Company and the city. Kaitlyn Church’s documentary presents stories of Ford workers, the impact of the closure on the community and the human cost of this progression.
