In its second production of 2026, Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Victoria presents Patience at Queenscliff Town Hall (18-19 July, 2pm), featuring Sullivan’s most beautiful music and Gilbert’s brilliant satire on the Victorian obsession with poets: Bunthorne, a fake poet, adores Patience, but she adores Grosvenor, a real poet. The Rapturous Maidens adore only the most aesthetic, but no one adores the Dragoons. Oh miserie!
