Art x Mindfulness x Social Impact
Come and celebrate Vincent van Gogh’s genius with Flowwa’s new workshop facilitator Anna.
We will look at his early works, explore how his artistic practice developed over time, and investigate the aspects of his late artworks such as composition, brushwork, colours in an easy and comprehensive format.
You will learn the story of his world-famous “The Starry Night”, when and where it was made, and what inspired Vincent.
You will have a go at creating a simplified version of the painting. It will be a step-by-step process that will allow you to combine your own artistic knowledge and skills with van Gogh’s techniques.
You will come out with a better understanding of what made his work special and how to create more art inspired by van Gogh.

About Flowwa, the Not-For-Profit Arts Organisation for social change:
Flowwa is a survivor-led, Not-For-Profit organisation that runs art x wellness workshops, nature retreats and peer-support for violence survivors. Flowwa is rooted in our love for flowers and the specific Japanese belief about nature – that humans are equal residents of this planet alongside all living things. It’s in our name “Flow-wa” – ‘Wa’ in Japanese means ‘Harmony’ and ‘Community’. Lastly, ‘Wa’ is the sound of amazement, joy, wonders and appreciation.
Like all kinds of flowers in nature, everyone’s journeys of healing and growing is unique and everyone has an important role to play in our community. Survivors’ stories give so much insights and drive to make the world safer, healthier and kinder.
