ROAM Geelong
Saturday 11 October
This October, Geelong’s cultural heart will ignite with ROAM Geelong, a new celebration of art, performance and imagination across Little Malop Street and Johnstone Park. For one unforgettable afternoon and evening, the city transforms into a living gallery, inviting locals and visitors to discover world-class creativity in unexpected places.
At the Geelong Gallery, the prestigious Archibald Prize 2025 takes centre stage, while Bangarra Dance Theatre presents The Light Inside at the Geelong Arts Centre, a powerful work exploring cultural forces that connect us all. Storytelling meets design at the Geelong Library with Tim Ross’s The Australian Dream? while Johnstone Park becomes home to Gathering Place, a textile installation by acclaimed First Nations artist Dr Paola Balla, alongside a live music showcase in the historic rotunda.
The streets pulse with participatory works including After Walter Hopps Remix at Platform Arts, Superficial Studio’s luminous projection Tomorrow Blooms on City Hall, and the kaleidoscopic procession Arranged Marriage led by Dr Anindita Banerjee. Adding to the atmosphere are Blink Dance Theatre’s playful Bloom Dept., Buff Diss’s geometric street art, and Georgie Rose Puppetry’s magical Butterfly Kaleidoscope.
With installations, parades, projections, and performances spanning the arts precinct, ROAM invites everyone to see Geelong in a new light.
