For close to two years, The Q Train has been serving delicious local produce to hungry visitors in Victoria’s Bellarine region. With a swag of state and regional awards in food, hospitality, innovation and tourism under their belt, The Q Train is on track for a bumper winter. As Australia’s only dedicated restaurant train, the service has proven popular with both locals and tourists, and continues to attract attention across Australia and internationally.
Already in 2019, The Q Train has been nominated for Victoria’s Best Tourism Restaurant, as well as Victoria’s Best Contemporary Australian Formal Restaurant in the prestigious Savour Awards. It has been a regional host for a sold-out Melbourne Food and Wine Festival Event, and was the filming location for an episode of MasterChef Australia Season 11 (set to air on Channel 10 on 3 July).
In other news, The Q Train is rolling into winter under the steerage of new Head Chef, Nathan Darlington. Nathan brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the region, along with experience gained working with renowned international chefs. Originally from the UK, Nathan is a Michelin star trained chef who has worked under Chris Wheeler and Gordon Ramsey. His philosophy is fresh food and fresh seasonal produce with a creative modern twist and balance of textures and flavors. As a winner of the Lancashire Life Best Young Chef, and his 20 years’ experience in the industry internationally, Nathan is already a true asset to The Q Train team.
