Visit Geelong Sports Museum

Sport is a way of life in Geelong. It runs in stride with the growth of the region, shaped by the landscape and its people. From grassroots clubs to elite athletes, Geelong contributes significantly to the Australian sporting landscape. Geelong Sports Museum is a place to gather, learn and celebrate the role of sport in the community. Located at Kardinia Park, the home of sport in the region, visitors can explore our sporting history through exhibitions, films, artefacts, and interactive experiences.

Discover the origins of sport in this region and its significant role in bringing people together. Celebrate our game-changers, those who started from humble beginnings in Geelong before taking on the world, and learn how this community supports its athletes and clubs to succeed.

Geelong Sports Museum also celebrates local Geelong legend, Charles Brownlow.  This year marks 100 years since his passing, and the creation of the Brownlow Medal. Learn about Brownlow’s early life and his role in shaping the game of Australian football, through special artefacts, images, and storytelling.

Whether you are a sports fan or history enthusiast, aged 8 or 80, Geelong Sports Museum has something for everyone. Come be inspired and celebrate the incredible place sport holds in the heart of this community.

Open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10am until 4:30pm.
