The Mill Markets now has two venues in Geelong. The huge two storey shop at 114 Bellarine Highway, Newcomb has been joined by the fantastic warehouse style four storey building, a former Dennnys Lascelles woolstore on the Waterfront, at 20 Brougham Street Geelong.
The Mill Markets business model was devised in 2002 by Ian Ballis, the Managing Director, with the original site being the former Federal Woollen Mill in Mackey Street North Geelong. This is now open daily as a wholesale warehouse and arts industry estate.
The simple concept of leasing space to hundreds of antique and collectable dealers, allows small business operators, hobbyists, collectors, artists or community groups who otherwise could not afford the overheads of their own shops, to showcase their goods.
This is exciting for customers who, upon arrival, are amazed that they can treasure hunt for hours through a diverse range of wares, seven days a week from 10am to 6pm.
A combined 170 stall holders over the two venues, display an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage clothing, accessories and shoes, jewellery, furniture, lamps and light fittings, books, fine china and glassware, retro collectables, radio grams and record players, Australian pottery, home wares, CDs, vinyl records, memorabilia from the 1880s to the 1980s and lots more. If you seek it, you will probably find it at the Mill Markets.
Enjoy lunch or a coffee and treat at the Sit Down Grey Dog Café at the Newcomb venue as well as a trip down memory lane in one of Australia’s largest antiques and collectables centres.
The Mill Markets spoils its customers with venues also at Daylesford, Ballarat and Warrnambool.
